Ajj-De-Ranjhe-2012
When we hear the name Ranjha, we associate it with the symbol of love but what does the title Ajj De Ranjhe suggest ? It gives more of a tentative idea of modern, enthusiastic idle flirts. But does the movie Ajj de Ranjhe relates to this definition, thats what the point is to throw the light upon.

In modern days mostly youth oriented movies are making the impact on Box Office. So as the title speaks Ajj De Ranjhe also revolves around the modern youth. However, what distinguishes this movie from other youth oriented movies, along with romantic sequence it has also tried to touch some of the important factors like unemployment and the thought of breaking traditional thinking of the society.

The plot of Ajj De Ranjhe concentrates on two different stories through out until just before the point of climax. At one side it demonstrates the life of a hockey player turned Police Inspector Manjeet Singh Firki (Gurpreet Ghuggi) and on the other hand the story describes the life of an unemployed, struggler but yet a so called modern Ranjha, Ambar (Aman Dhaliwal). Manjeet Singh Firki has to deal with conventional problems which are associated with the job of a police man. Along with his durable duty he also to deal with a delightful case involving a NRI girl Harpreet (Kimi Verma) with whom he falls in love and that’s what he tries to say in the song Rabba Thanedar nu Pyar Ho Gaya. Being a struggler and unemployed, Ambar deals with some pragmatic problems at home. His life takes turn at one glance when he falls for a TV Reporter Kranti (Gurleen Chopra) and also decides to take on the same job which Kranti does. So even Ambar also has to deal with some conventional problems which are associated with the job of an honest TV reporter who extracts a racket of drug dealers. Just before the climax, the two different stories get emerged together which delivers a scintillating climax.

Ajj De Ranjhe offers an opportunity to showcase two aspects, the police public relationship and targeting a way to accountable life for youth. It also shows that if the power of police uniform and media can be used precisely, it can clean up so many social evils in a matter of days. So the subject of the movie can be called an impressive one because it delivers a valuable message to the audience. But there are some loopholes in the movie which makes the presentation sluggish a little. At times story moves very slowly especially before the interval and some songs make their way in at needless times. One gets the feeling it would have been better if the two different stories have emerged together earlier than they do. But still the movie has got so many decisive facts to offer and contains decent enough entertainment. It has been a complete package of Romance, Action and Comedy.

Ajj De Ranjhe contains a profound starcast with Gurpreet Ghuggi and Aman Dhaliwal being the main lead actors and Kimi Verma and Gurleen Chopra are the lead female actresses. Gurpreet Ghuggi is already known as the comedy king, with him Rana Ranbir and Rana Jung Bahadur also have cooked the comedy fries at the peak. Deep Dhillon and Paramveer Singh have looked promising in their negative roles. As per the current trends, there is a surprise for the audience, a dynamic guest appearance of Guggu Gill as a senior police officer. Each and every actor have done justice to their characters in the movie.

Well, when the name of Director is Manmohan Singh, then its almost certain that direction of the complies with subject of the movie. As everyone knows, he is a time-honoured director of Punjabi movies, so he has justified his stance once again. Music and background score of the movie is just about average. Screenplay and dialogs are very impressive and mostly very robust to the situation. Cinematography is just about ideal.
All in all, Ajj De Ranjhe is exciting, societal and funny. But it could have been more engaging especially in the pre interval part to bring more crowd in. Yet the movie has got so much nice about it and its worth watching.

From PunMovies.Net, Ajj De Ranjhe gets 3.5/5.

Raula pai Geya
Ravinder Grewal, another prominent singer of Punjabi Music Industry turned actor with his debut movie Aiven Raula Pai Gaya. The title Aiven Raula Pai Gaya is associated with Ravinder Grewal even before this movie. He released a superhit album entitled Raula Pai Gaya which gave his singing career a new direction. So lets see if this title again helps Ravinder Grewal take a new direction, but this time as an actor.

Aiven Raula Pai Gaya – Fun Unlimited has been released today first day first showings have all been housefull which is a great response for the film. The movie cast consists of Ravinder Grewal playing the male lead role, with Surbhi Jyoti in the female lead role. The supporting cast includes Jaswinder Bhalla, Binnu Dhillon, B N Sharma, Sardar Sohi, Kartar Cheema, Maninder Vaily, Daman Gill and for his first appearance on screen, Parjesh Kapil.
Aiven Raula Pai Gaya tries to throw the light on various issues associated with common people. But to be honest it hasn’t succeeded in dealing most of them. The movie got some good patches of emotions, action, comedy and romance but all these genres did halt the story sequence. Although the movie has got lot to offer to the audience but only in parts.
Story of Aiven Raula Pai Gaya has shown the issues which are relatable to common people’s life in modern days. Its the story of three college friends, enjoying their young life but mostly it revolves around Rajveer (Ravinder Grewal). Rajveer is the commander of a short army of three friends and leads them to find fun every time. But with his fun loving life, he has to go through some real difficulties at his family level, friendship level and in his love life. When everything is going right in his life suddenly he gets hit with a big shock which changes the motive of his life. Then he decides to take turn towards rectifying all the problems caused because of him.
The movie has a few peaks but also has a few troughs. The starting of the movie promises a lot but as the story progresses it keeps on going downwards. The story is too slow and takes so much time to justify the theme of the movie. However it picks itself up just after the interval with some very touching emotional moments and audience feel very attach to the situation for some point of time. The shoot of a holy place Shri Hemkunt Sahib really impressive and the religious song “Main Pardesi” at that point really suits the situation. But again too many subjects running together halts each other’s charge which proved to be the most negative point of the story. To some extent movie gets itself to the situation where story becomes the matrix to solve out but then the audience is left gobsmacked by a little surprise. The guest entry of another popular Punjabi Singer delivers smile on all faces for a moment.
If we talk about acting, most of the actors have done justice to their characters. All eyes were on Ravinder Grewal to see how he settles himself on the big screen and he has been more than decent in playing the lead role. Surbhi Jyoti the female lead actor didn’t have much to do but still she has played her part well enough. The comic stars like Binnu Dhillon and Jaswinder Bhalla presented some laughing moments which are expected from them. BN Sharma has really succeeded to make his mark as he always does but in this movie his character of Sweety was above from others by far.Other supporting cast like Sardar Sohi, Kartar Cheema, Maninder Vaily, Daman Gill and Parjesh Kapil have done decent enough job.
Direction of the movie cannot be called great however it can’t be called down the line either, which means director Atharv Baluja has done an even-steven job. Script and dialogues are little weak to catch on with the situations. Cinematography is just about decent for a Punjabi feature film.
The music aspect of the movie can’t be faulted. Most of the songs in the movie have been sung by Ravinder Grewal himself and to add to that he himself is the music director for all the songs. Though the background music disappoints and fails to match the scene situation at times.
All in All, Raula Pai Gaya is a multi subjected movie and does not succeed in clearing most of them. Even though it relates to the issues of common people but it fails to make a hard-hitting statement.
Raula Pai Gaya gets 2.5/5.
