Raula pai Geya
Ravinder Grewal, another prominent singer of Punjabi Music Industry turned actor with his debut movie Aiven Raula Pai Gaya. The title Aiven Raula Pai Gaya is associated with Ravinder Grewal even before this movie. He released a superhit album entitled Raula Pai Gaya which gave his singing career a new direction. So lets see if this title again helps Ravinder Grewal take a new direction, but this time as an actor.

Aiven Raula Pai Gaya – Fun Unlimited has been released today first day first showings have all been housefull which is a great response for the film. The movie cast consists of Ravinder Grewal playing the male lead role, with Surbhi Jyoti in the female lead role. The supporting cast includes Jaswinder Bhalla, Binnu Dhillon, B N Sharma, Sardar Sohi, Kartar Cheema, Maninder Vaily, Daman Gill and for his first appearance on screen, Parjesh Kapil.
Aiven Raula Pai Gaya tries to throw the light on various issues associated with common people. But to be honest it hasn’t succeeded in dealing most of them. The movie got some good patches of emotions, action, comedy and romance but all these genres did halt the story sequence. Although the movie has got lot to offer to the audience but only in parts.
Story of Aiven Raula Pai Gaya has shown the issues which are relatable to common people’s life in modern days. Its the story of three college friends, enjoying their young life but mostly it revolves around Rajveer (Ravinder Grewal). Rajveer is the commander of a short army of three friends and leads them to find fun every time. But with his fun loving life, he has to go through some real difficulties at his family level, friendship level and in his love life. When everything is going right in his life suddenly he gets hit with a big shock which changes the motive of his life. Then he decides to take turn towards rectifying all the problems caused because of him.
The movie has a few peaks but also has a few troughs. The starting of the movie promises a lot but as the story progresses it keeps on going downwards. The story is too slow and takes so much time to justify the theme of the movie. However it picks itself up just after the interval with some very touching emotional moments and audience feel very attach to the situation for some point of time. The shoot of a holy place Shri Hemkunt Sahib really impressive and the religious song “Main Pardesi” at that point really suits the situation. But again too many subjects running together halts each other’s charge which proved to be the most negative point of the story. To some extent movie gets itself to the situation where story becomes the matrix to solve out but then the audience is left gobsmacked by a little surprise. The guest entry of another popular Punjabi Singer delivers smile on all faces for a moment.
If we talk about acting, most of the actors have done justice to their characters. All eyes were on Ravinder Grewal to see how he settles himself on the big screen and he has been more than decent in playing the lead role. Surbhi Jyoti the female lead actor didn’t have much to do but still she has played her part well enough. The comic stars like Binnu Dhillon and Jaswinder Bhalla presented some laughing moments which are expected from them. BN Sharma has really succeeded to make his mark as he always does but in this movie his character of Sweety was above from others by far.Other supporting cast like Sardar Sohi, Kartar Cheema, Maninder Vaily, Daman Gill and Parjesh Kapil have done decent enough job.
Direction of the movie cannot be called great however it can’t be called down the line either, which means director Atharv Baluja has done an even-steven job. Script and dialogues are little weak to catch on with the situations. Cinematography is just about decent for a Punjabi feature film.
The music aspect of the movie can’t be faulted. Most of the songs in the movie have been sung by Ravinder Grewal himself and to add to that he himself is the music director for all the songs. Though the background music disappoints and fails to match the scene situation at times.
All in All, Raula Pai Gaya is a multi subjected movie and does not succeed in clearing most of them. Even though it relates to the issues of common people but it fails to make a hard-hitting statement.
Raula Pai Gaya gets 2.5/5.
